Top Picks for Affordable Lip Products

Top Picks for Affordable Lip Products

Bold lips never go out of style. No girl wants to look at herself at the end of the day, though, and realize her lipstick has been wiped across her face all day. That’s why when you’re going cheap, it’s important to choose the best affordable lip products that leave your lips healthy and your ego intact. Here are five of my favorite drugstore picks for affordable lip products, including lip stains, lip balms, and liquid lip products.

If you are looking for more affordable makeup products, check out my posts sharing my top picks for affordable face makeup and affordable eye makeup, too.

Lipstick: Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Color

Price: $2

Wet N Wild MegaLast Lipstick

For traditional lipsticks, Wet N Wild has a huge collection of MegaLast Lip Color lipsticks that go for just about $2 a piece. I love these because I can try a bunch of different colors without a huge commitment. I find they feel a bit more secure and smudge proof than many more expensive drugstore lipsticks. They do transfer a bit but blotting helps keep them on through the day.

Liquid Lipsticks: Rimmel London Provocalips & Maybelline Super Stay 24 Lip Color

Price: $7, $11

#Brynnita Liquid Lipstick Pick: #Rimmel Provocalips Lip Colour. Lasts all day and is not super drying! For a great drugstore pick, use the Maybelline Super Stay 24HR Lip Colour to have kiss-proof lipstick all day.
Liquid lipstick has become a lifesaver for me since I can’t seem to keep my hands off my face all day. Cue embarrassing lipstick smudges across my chin. Liquid lipstick makes me not have to worry about where on my face my lipstick is going during the day. I actually can’t decide which drugstore brand I like best but it’s between Rimmel London Provocalips 16Hr Kissproof Lip Colour and Maybelline SuperStay 24 Lip Color. The both have double-ended tubes with color on one side and a balm or gloss on the other. I actually prefer Rimmel’s gloss to Maybelline’s balm, but Maybelline has over 30 shades while Rimmel only has about 13. These both can easily last me a day and are smudge proof and kiss proof in my experience.

Tip: Prepare your lips by exfoliating them and moisturizing them before applying liquid lipstick, but make sure you don’t have any remaining chapstick or moisturizer on when you apply.

Tinted Lip Balm: Nivea Care & Color

Price: $4-5

Nivea Color & Care provides amazing moisturizing power with a tint of color.

For just a bit of color but a lot of moisturizing power, Nivea’s Care & Color line is just that. They come in 4 different tints ranging from berry to coral but are just as moisturizing as other Nivea lip balms (which are my favorites). I have the berry tinted one. While it isn’t opaque, it does provide a lot of color that fades nicely. I can easily reapply throughout the day.

Lip Stain: Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Price: $6-9

Don't confuse this with the #Revlon Matte or Lacquer Balm, the original Kissable Balm Stain is the way to go!

Lip stains are unique because they leave a subtle stain on your lips even after the actual lipstick wears away. There are a lot of drugstore lip products that claim to be stains, but the only one that actually works for me is Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. They look like giant crayons and apply very creamy and pigmented at first. They wear off evenly in a few hours and leave a nice subtle stain for the rest of the day. Revlon also makes Matte Balms and Lacquer Balms that look similar but don’t work nearly as well as these.
